when looking at a variety of horror films they all seem to be set in a dark and scary setting such as a house, as we are able as an audience to get to know the surrounding, they then introduce the characters most of them having a child that causing all of the paranormal activity. Movies such as paranormal activity and Devil inside give it that real feeling as they are made out to be a documentary, whereas movies such as incidious are more supernatural as there is something that is not real causing all of the distress. The clothing used in horror films depends on the genre as gothic films tend to have ragged clothing, and documentary films seem to have everyday clothing.
This is a bad example of an horror film as it just doesn't make any sense, as there is two protagonists. we are first introduced to a male as he is lying in bed with low key lighting, we are then introduced to the first protagonist as he is presented as a demon as he is all in white and a red robe. The male in this clip has really bad acting as it makes the audience laugh rather than scared.
This is a good example of a short horror film, firstly we get to know the setting as its set in a forest, the use of the low-key lighting gives it that earry feeling an gets the audience jumping out of their seat.
This is an example of another bad horror film, this is because it takes a lot of time to get into the main story, there is a really good plot twist at the end however it just takes too long for the build up. There are some elements that are brilliant and makes you feel scared on the other hand there are elements that are comedy like.
Hi Anil You are beginning to analyse existing horror films, however your analysis lacks detail. In order to get a good mark for your planning and research, you need to add more detail as opposed to short comments at the end of a short film. Try print screening stills from the film to analyse with arrows. You must also analyse two full horror films and upload this to your blog so demonstrate you have fully researched into depth existing horror films and to be able to make comments on their conventions.
